Mariia Bakhtina is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Masaryk University, Czechia, where she works in the area of usable security. She holds a PhD from the University of Tartu, Estonia, and specialises in information security and the security of distributed systems.
Her research combines technical engineering with human-centric design to support security-aware decision-making in organisations. Over the years, she has built a strong focus on the security of X-Road, with published work covering trust management, decentralised identity, and public key infrastructure.
